 In order to progressively revegitate local areas and zones impacted by the clearing, levelling and excavation works, the gathering of endemic seeds has been organised and confided to teams of local harvesters. The production of young seedlings is then confided to regional nurserymen of Voh-Koné-Pouembout to guarantee the necessary production. Seed fields will thus be in the course of installation, in partnership with scientists, in order to control the production process of the grains in coming years.
The needs for the revegetation operations of the sites are at the order of 20 to 40 kilos per hectare, knowing that it requires several hundred grains to obtain a single gram of seed.
This sector will represent perennial activity during the whole term of the exploitation of the massif for the populations residing around Koniambo.
